A memorable and historic day at Soham Academy of Human Excellence.
At the Inter School Mandal Level tournament, our under 17 boys won the finals in the Kabaddi competitions. They represented our Government High School, CPL, Himayatnagar. Our boys defeated a very reputed team – Kacheguda Government School, in the finals. They defeated another well known team – Hyderguda Government School – in the semi-finals. That semi-final match ended in a tie but we won that match in the extra time.
Three of our boys were selected to train for the district level tournaments. This will be a start of a new sports career for them.

Our girls also performed very well. Our under 14 girls won the second place in kabaddi competitions. They played an exceptional game in their semi-finals, but lost to a better team in the finals.

This is a big first for the school as well as for Soham Academy. Winning a kabaddi tournmanent, that too at a zonal level is a historic first time.
One small intervention made this possible. Our sports coaches, Yogesh Yogi and Azeez, who are also members of iFocus Mission, made a big difference. They trained our boys and girls for over a month, toiling for hours during the weekdays as well the weekends. Ravi, a budding pro kabaddi player also played an important role. This would not have been possible without Yogi, Azeez and Ravi.
The school management, especially Mrs, Madhu Shalini, and physical education director, Mr. Sunil, played a big role in motivating the kids.
