For most children waking up early in the morning is a challenge. But they will do it if they see a value in it. We are able to show children the value of staying fit by challenging them to do things that are generally considered difficult. We asked them to take up yoga and perform some complex asanas. They found it exciting and challenging initially. When they saw the complexity they enjoyed it even more.

We want to teach yoga to our children for the simple reason that it offers some very obvious advantages. Staying fit and healthy is clearly one of them. Yoga has all the well documented benefits in terms of physical and mental stability as well as improved concentration levels. What is even more important, from our observation, is that the children are being habituated into doing difficult things. This is very important in the long run as they will not cringe whenever they encounter something that is challenging and difficult.

We have been able to successfully mould children into adopting yoga as an important part of their routine. This was possible because of their continuous participation in programs in their schools and at popular public venues. The exposure that they got from these performances gave them a significant boost in their confidence levels.
