We are very happy to announce the launch of the Soham Champs Program for schools starting from this academic year(2019-20). The following FAQs are designed to provide all the details about this program.

What is Soham Champs Program?
Soham Champs is a high school level program that is geared towards 7th, 8th, and 9th standards. It aims to provide children with important skills of great social and technological importance. It includes:
Practical Robotics
This activity aims to equip children with the latest in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence. This training will be done in two phases – Level 1 & Level 2. Each of these levels will be run for about 10 days. Kids will learn about modern electronic prototyping platforms in Level 1. In Level 2 they will create simple robotics equipment that mimics real life. At Soham, Artificial Intelligence & Robotics is one of our key focus areas.
Athletics & Sports
We will train a number of children in Kabaddi and Kho Kho. We will also train them to enable their participation in 5K and 10K races. Children will participate in local competitions and 5K & 10K events. At Soham, Athletics & Sports is one of our key focus areas.
Yoga
In this activity, we train children in basic and advanced yoga routines. They will also learn to work in teams to perform multiple yoga formations. The schools will be supported in their efforts to integrate Yoga activities in their respective school events. At Soham, Yoga is one of our key focus areas.
Human Excellence
Through this program children will be able to learn and recite at least 36 shlokas and also articulate their meanings. In addition to this, they will also learn some classical and patriotic songs. Those who learn these Shlokas and songs will be encouraged to teach other children in their schools. At Soham, Human Excellence is one of our key focus areas.
Purpose of the Activities of Soham Champs Program
The whole idea behind Practical Robotics activity is to create a new generation of tech-savvy and tech-aware children. We firmly believe that all the Sports activities will certainly create health and fitness-conscious individuals. The purpose of the Yoga activity is to make it an integral part of the health and fitness plan of all children. With the Human Excellence program, we aim to connect our children to our ancient cultural roots.
About the Participating Schools
Who are the target groups?
Soham Champs is a program that is designed exclusively for children of 7th, 8th, & 9th grades in government and budget schools.
How are the schools selected?
Our mission is to complement the efforts of the schools in doing what they are unable to do and in teaching what they are not equipped to teach. Several government and budget schools, where majority of our children go to educate themselves, are ill-equipped to take up the above activities on their own. Therefore we are targeting such schools for implementing our Soham Champs program.
It is impossible to implement the Soham Champs program at schools without full support from the school management. Full support from management is therefore imperative for the successful implementation of our program at the selected schools.
We are selecting those schools that are in close proximity to our areas of operations in Vidyanagar, Nallakunta, Amberpet, and Sitaphalmandi regions of Hyderabad, Telangana.
How many schools are selected?
We are implementing this program in nine schools this academic year(2019-20). Depending on the circumstances we might expand the program to include additional schools.
Program Conclusion
What happens after all the Soham Champs program activities are concluded at the schools?
Once all the Soham Champs program activities are concluded, we will organize the following events at a common venue for all the participating schools
- Sports Day for inter-school competitions for all the participating schools.
- Yoga Day to showcase the yoga talents of kids from all the schools.
- Robotics Day for kids to demonstrate their newly acquired skills.
- Human Excellence Day to celebrate the learning of shlokas and songs.
- Annual Day to bring all the schools under one roof to celebrate program conclusion and for certificate and prize distribution.
Are students given any certificates?
Yes. The students will be awarded a Soham Champs certificate on successful completion of all the activities in which they participated.
Program Costs
What is the cost of the Soham Champs program?
Soham Champs program is a free-of-cost program. No fee is collected either from the students or from the government and budget schools.
Why is Soham Champs offered free of cost?
Soham Champs program is offered for free of cost for a very simple reason! We believe that children from government and budget schools deserve to get the same opportunities that children from other privileged schools get.
