It was a historic day at Soham. Mark the date friends – December 21, 2019.
At Soham we are now capable of organizing our own yoga competitions. Until now, we took our children to external yoga competitions. Now, we have children coming to the yoga competitions that we are conducting.
We invited 7 of our supported schools to participate in our first-ever inter school yoga competition. 90 children showed up – 46 boys and 44 girls. Competitions were held under two categories – sub juniors and juniors for both girls and boys separately. We invited 4 external yoga gurus to join our judges team. There was also a registration/welcome team and a coordination team. All managed by our own students from previous batches.
Proud winners of these teams were given colourful trophies and certificates. We requested teachers from the participating schools to give away the trophies during their school assemblies. This is to give these students further recognition and to promote yoga in schools.
All credit for this tremendous achievement goes to our Yoga gurus Vignatha, Bharath and Anil. They are all pumped up to organize inter school competitions every year. Participation and winning in such events is likely to be a very prestigious cap to wear both for the students as well as for the participating schools.
Here are some pics from the event.
