010 – A Trip to Golconda Fort

October 14, 2017

It was a fantastic trip to Golconda Fort with about 90 kids. This time under a well defined banner called “Soham Academy of Human Excellence”. It was a first visit to Golconda for many of the students.

These photos speak volumes about the kind of fun the students had. In all we have about 500-600 pics storing all the wonderful memories from just one professional camera and one smartphone. Many more in many more smart phones. Just 16 photos were selected for this post.

We went there in two buses with the students of Amberpet Government High School. Once we reached the fort, it was a long walk up the fort hill. They all climbed up the hill sweating and gasping. It was worth all the effort. This single pic captures the entire trip..

Later, we had lunch at one of the parks at the tombs. Right after our lunch, there was a heavy downpour. All the children decided to fight it out by dancing and having some unexpected extra fun in the rain. I decided to get drenched too. There was no option. We slowly walked to a shelter and had some more fun wriggling out the water out of clothes.

We planned to go to Durgam Cheruvu, but we had to call it off. Other than that it was a great trip.

It would not have been possible without the active support of school-in-charge Mrs. Madhu Shalini and Mrs. Rajani ma’am. They both clearly knowshow to keep an eye on kids.

We had fantastic support from the student soldiers and leaders of iFocus -Venu Gopal , Manideep, Reunka, Sushmitha, Rajasekhar, Bhanu, Kasi Lakshmi, Tejaswini, and Arun. We would not have been able to pull this off without their support.

Here are a bunch of pics from the trip. You can click on any of the pics to view it in its actual size.
