060 – Yoga at Two Sitaphalmandi Schools

Soham Champs program was kicked off with simultaneous projects at six schools on June 24, 2019. We recently concluded Practical Robotics training at two Amberpet Schools on July 19, 2019. The very next day, on July 20, 2019, we concluded our Yoga training at two schools in Sitaphalmandi – Sitaphalmandi Government High School and Vedic Vidyalayam. Kids showed tremendous interest at both the schools.

On July 20, we assembled kids from both the schools at Vedic Vidyalayam. Our Yoga gurus Viganatha, Bharat and Anil swung into action. They prepared a number of chits for the visitors to pick up from. A chance was given to each of the schools to perform the asana that was written on the chit.

059 – Practical Robotics at Two Amberpet Schools

A dream start for our Soham Champs program. We have been working on a plan to take our work to at least nine schools this year. We reached our first milestone of completing Practical Robotics class at two of our schools. Over 50 students from these two schools – Government High School, CPL, Amberpet and Hymavati High School, Premnagar, Amberpet – completed their level 1 and level 2 classes that spanned over 4 weeks.

058 – Kabaddi Tournament for 5 Schools

One of the most important goals of Soham Champs program is to promote sports in schools. Towards this end we started coaching our boys and girls from at least six schools at select grounds. On Friday, 19-07-2019, we organized a mini kabaddi tournament for the boys under two categories Under-17 and Under-14. Five schools – Amberpet Government High School(CPL), Jama-e-Osmania Government High School, Sitaphalmandi Government High School, SVES High School, and Sai Grace School participated in this friendly tournament that lasted over 90 minutes.

Our experience in the last few years has given us enough confidence to take our program forward to more schools. This academic year we finally took the plunge. We started our program in 8 schools so far and we plan to add one more school.

056 – International Yoga Day at Microsoft

Our visit to Microsoft Hyderabad campus on 2019 International Yoga Day is one of the most thrilling experiences ever for our kids. We wanted to give a corporate experience to all our kids who perform extraordinary yoga asanas. Our kids gave public performances at many places including iFocus, Necklace Road, Amberpet Grounds, JNTU, and WellTech foundation event at Necklace Road. But going to a corporate setup and performing yoga in front their elite staff is a whole new experience altogether for our kids. The last time we stepped into Microsoft Hyderabad Office was in Nov, 14, 2017. It was a very special experience too. Last time our kids learnt a lot about virtual reality and other cool things. But now, it was time for our younger ones to teach them something that they would never expect to learn from kids – the possibility of bending their bodies in unimaginable ways.
