060 – Yoga at Two Sitaphalmandi Schools

Soham Champs program was kicked off with simultaneous projects at six schools on June 24, 2019. We recently concluded Practical Robotics training at two Amberpet Schools on July 19, 2019. The very next day, on July 20, 2019, we concluded our Yoga training at two schools in Sitaphalmandi – Sitaphalmandi Government High School and Vedic Vidyalayam. Kids showed tremendous interest at both the schools.

On July 20, we assembled kids from both the schools at Vedic Vidyalayam. Our Yoga gurus Viganatha, Bharat and Anil swung into action. They prepared a number of chits for the visitors to pick up from. A chance was given to each of the schools to perform the asana that was written on the chit.

It was thrilling to watch kids compete with each other to get onto the stage to perform the asanas. Some of the asanas were without a doubt very difficult and complex. But the kids managed to perform them with ease and with a great sense of satisfaction.

The program concluded with each of the schools performing various formations. Every student participated in the yoga formations! Not a child was left behind!

The kind of support we received from the Vedic Vidyalayam school was unprecedented. They arranged for a teacher to take care of our gurus and their students throughout the 4 week training schedule. They ensured that the kids arrived on time and that their attendance was well documented. They even hosted the event on the last day.

At Sitaphalmandi school, their P.E.T (Physical Education Trainer) showed keen interest in the program and was present on most of the days.

Tipparaju Surendra, who is a senior technical leader at Microsoft, is also a trustee of our academy. He is one of strongest proponents of our Yoga program. He was there with his family to cheer our boys and girls.
