At Soham we do not miss an opportunity to participate in any of the yoga competitions. Without much loss of humility, we are also very proud to say that we do not come back empty handed. 8 of our kids, 4 boys and 4 girls participated in a yoga competition organized by Telangana Yoga Cultural Association in SR Nagar in Hyderabad.

It was a competition for all age groups in various categories for boys and girls and men and women. About 400 children from all the Telangana districts participated in this competition.

• Mallikarjun won second prize under 15-22 age group for boys.
• Under the same age category Sai Shreyanka won the second place under girls group.
• Our youngest, cutest and smartest participant Kerthana won second place under 11-15 age group for girls.
• Vignatha, our yoga guru also participated in the event to earn a 3rd place for herself in the 22-30 age group for girls.
• There was also an impromptu stand-but-run competition in which several kids participated. They are supposed to run without moving forward with the condition that they their ankle should touch their bum. All the three and the only survivors of this strenuous run were three boys from Soham Academy – Shiva Narayana, Mallikarjun and Shiva.

On a special request, our kids readily performed yoga formations that thrilled the audience beyond belief. When there was free time our kids were invited to sing. They rendered a few shlokas and some songs. Whenever they were needed to show the intricacies of an asana, they were invited on to the stage to demonstrate it. It is perhaps because of this reason that Soham Academy of Human Excellence was awarded a special trophy for all round participation and the energy they brought to the event. 

Kudos to our Yoga gurus Vignatha, Bharat and Anil, who ensured that our kids their very best. The results are obvious!!

All our winners will travel to Nagpur to participate in the nationals.
