Bestest Ever Day for Soham!!

We have been preparing for this zonal kabaddi tournament for over two months now. Practice at 3 different grounds every day from 6 am to 7.15 am. For both boys and girls. We gave them enough practice tournaments too. Their efforts bore fruit where it mattered the most. We trained our kids in 4 kabaddi categories – Under 17 Boys, Under 14 Boys, Under 17 Girls and Under 14 Girls. Our schools are clear champs in three categories and earned an additional 3rd place in one category. We also won two third place positions in two categories in Kho Kho as well. At least 20 schools participated in each of the categories. Here are the results:

Kabaddi Under 17 Boys: No. 1 Team. Champs!!! Amberpet Government High School, CPL, Himayathnagar. 
We were champs last year too. They were rookies last year and won anyways. This year they are not rookies any more. They won a nail biting final with just one point lead that was gained in the last few seconds. They have no ground of their own!!

Kabaddi Under 14 Boys: No. 1 Team. Champs!!! Vedic Vidyalayam High School.
This team never played a tournament in the past. They are rookies in a very true sense. It is clearly our intervention and their hard work that mattered the most. The commitment and cooperation of their physical trainer and their teachers helped too. They have no ground of their own!!

Kabaddi Under 17 Girls: No. 1 Team. Champs!!! Jama-e-Osmania Government High School.
They played several tournaments in the past. They also have a good ground and infrastructure. Our intervention provided them with support through additional coaching and practice tournament. They won entirely on their own strength with some minor support from us. Their physical education trainers played a key role. Interestingly 2 of these girls are part of our Human Excellence program at this school.

Kabaddi Under 17 Boys: 3rd place. Jama-e-Osmania High School.
This team participated in all the practice tournaments that we organized. They deserved to get into the finals but lost by just a point in their semi-finals match. 

Kho-Kho Under 14 Boys: 3rd Place. Sitaphalmandi Government High School.
We gave minimal support to our kho-kho teams, but this school managed to score a win. Our intervention is minimal.. but we are proud to support this team as well.

Kho-Kho Under 17 Girls: 3rd Place. Sitaphalmandi Government High School.
We gave minimal support for our kho-kho teams, but this school managed to score a win. Most of these girls also played the under 17 kabaddi tournament.

This is a huge achievement for our Soham Champs Program. We managed to take 8 out of our 10 schools to the tournament – over half of them for the first time. We won finals in three out of four kabaddi categories.  God has been very kind towards us and our efforts.
