Vedic Vidyalayam in Sitaphalmandi is one of our supported schools under Soham Champs program. This school took maximum advantage of our Soham Champs program. We completed Yoga and Human Excellence program at this school. In addition this school also participated in our sports program in full strength.

On Wednesday 25, September 2019, this school organized a special program to give an opportunity to showcase the talents of all the participants in the Soham Champs program. It was attended by their founder and all the management committee members. The program was open to all the children from classes 4 to 10.

The program started with the Human Excellence program. The children chanted all the 48 slokas that they learnt as part of the program. In addition they also sang 3 classical keertanas. This was followed by a contest in which the children were asked to chant a sloka in which a word from anywhere within the slokas is given as a clue. They passed this test in flying colours. Something of this kind is a first in this school.

It was followed by a yoga performance by the kids from our Yoga program at the school. The kids completed surya namaskars followed by outstanding yoga formations. All those who were watching were in awe.

It was followed by a small celebration and speeches by the winners of the recent Kabaddi Zonal Tournament. This school never participated in zonal tournaments, but in their very first tournament they won the Under 14 finals. It was a hard fought battle. Over 40 schools participated and being the best among the 40 schools that too in the first attempt is a rare achievement.

All the yoga gurus, sports gurus and human excellence gurus were specially honoured. It was a big, once-in-a-life-time moment for our yoga gurus Vignatha, Bharat and Anil, and our sports gurus Yogesh and Mahendra.

The event is also our tribute to all the teachers who helped in implementing our Soham Champs program in this school. Our special thanks to Savitri ma’am, Jyothi ma’am, physical education trainer Ravindra sir, and Head Master Venktramana sir. It is because of their help that made this program very successful. The school is ready for the Robotics program that is to start soon after the Dasara holidays.
