As part of our Human Excellence program, we have been training our kids in chanting several slokas including those from Bhagavad Gita. Our children chanted on stage at their own schools as well as in some public venues at Akshaya Patra and Sri Krishnashtami celebrations.
Our kids took part in a Gita Jayanti program for the first time. What was supposed to be a Gita Shobhaa Yatra ended up being much more memorable than ever. We were supposed to walk about 1/2 kilometer and return home. We were supposed to chant all the slokas from 12th chapter of Bhagavad Gita. As soon as the walk got over, we entered TV5 studio for a special program. We did not have the invite to enter the studio, so we waited in the lobby. While in the lobby we thought we should chant all the slokas of 12th chapter once. We did. While our kids were chanting, Sri Gangadhara Sastry, a very well known Gita exponent, entered the lobby and spent some time with the kids. The kids later sang their favourite song Garuda Gamana and later chanted some more slokas from Bhagavad Gita.
Later we were invited to join the main program in the main TV5 live program on the occasion of Gita Jayanti. In attendance in the studio were Sri Gangadara Sastry, former Chief Secretary of AP Sri LV Subramanyam, former Joint Director CBI Sri VV Lakshminarayana, former DGP of AP Sri Aravinda Rao and the chairman of TV5 among others. We sat through the entire program while the parents of our kids were glued to the TVs at their homes. Our kids did not get a chance to chant on live TV, our chanting in the lobby was recorded by TV5 crew.
Our kids from our supported schools – Government High School, CPL, Himayathnagar, Vedic Vidyalayam, and SVES High School – participated in this event. These schools are part of our 2019 Soham Champs program.
This program and our own amateur recording prompted us to start our own YouTube channel. Here are three videos recorded on the occasion and uploaded to our channel.
