Connecting our children to our cultural roots is one of the key goals of our academy. As part of this goal, we invited three well known singers to our academy. They were to present their skills and inspire our kids to know more about music and singing.
During the demonstration of use of kanjeera, two of our kids responded well. The visitors decided to give away two new kanjeeras to them. It was a nice gesture from them. Our kids were thrilled too. Hopefully it will ignite a new interest in music and our culture.
The singers came with their instruments – tabla, harmonium and kanjeera. They demonstrated each of the instruments and then they sang a few bhajans and devotional songs. Later our own kids sang the songs that they knew and learnt. It was one of the best days ever at our own office.
