Soham kids have been participating in Yoga competitions at regular intervals. Our first participation was in Patanjali Yoga Competitions in March 2018, later it was at Hanuman Vyayamsala in November 2018, followed by Telangana Yoga Cultural Association in July 2019. We participate in most major yoga competitions in and around Hyderabad. One of our kids was later selected for participation in the National Olympiad in Delhi.

This latest competition is at the state level where our participation was bigger and better this time. This was in Siddipet on December 14 & 15, 2019.

Here are the highlights!

1. There were two rounds of competitions. The first round was at the Hyderabad district level.
2. We took 11 kids to participate at the district level. 10 out 11 kids qualified for the state level competitions.
   • Junior boys – Sameer won the 1st place. While Shiva, Mallikarjun and Avinash got 2nd, 3rd and 5th place respectively. All of them from our CPL, Himayathnagar, Govt. High School.
   • Sub-junior boys – Jehangir of Sai Grace High School won 5th place while Srinivas and and Pranay achieved 6th and 8th place respectively.
   • Among sub-junior girls Keerthana got 2nd place while Sai Sreyanka and Ankita were placed in 6th and 7th place respectively.
   • All the above 10 were selected to join the State level competitions in Siddipet.
3. We took 9 of them to Siddipet for participation. Srinivas was unable to travel.
4. At the finals there were again two rounds. Our candidates Sameer, Jehangir, Pranay, Keerthana and Sai Sreyanka got into the final rounds.
   • Keerthana, of Government High School, CPL, Himayathnagar, competed at the girls sub-junior category. She got the fourth place. Her category witnessed strong competition from over 125 participants from across all the districts of Telanagana state.
   • Pranay, of Government High School, CPL, Himayathnagar, competed in the boys sub-junior category. He got fifth place in which there were over 100 participants.
   • The overall first place honour went to Siddipet while Hyderabad ended up in the second spot.
5. The event received wide media coverage and was in attendance by the local MP.

It was a fantastic event for us. Many of our kids got a chance to witness and participate in a mega state level event. Not only participate but also win handsomely. Soham Academy is now a well known name across the state!!
